a conversation from work
Not that I actually work at B&N anymore, but I just thought it'd be funny to mention.

A co-worker and I were attempting to figure out who the awesomest black superhero was, and we started by going down the list of those who's names began with 'Black'. We ended up talking about Black Goliath, and we ended up switching subjects a bit to talk about Atlas, formerly Goliath. And I mention that he used to be Power Man.

His response was, "Wait, he used to be Luke Cage?"

"No, he was always white."

"So he used to be the White Power Man?"

"..."

"Man, if he was created after Luke Cage, I don't think they thought that through very well."

I thought the awesomest black super hero was Brother Voodoo. I'm not sure that counts. Sure, he's black and has an almost comedically sized afro like other 70s era black super heroes- and even has a name that invokes Blackploitation films of the era but in much more subtle way. Not as blatant as Black Jericho, Black Lightning or Invisible Kid II.
